  • Most koi food leads with filler, pads the color section with synthetic dyes, and tells you very little on the label. Koi Prestige is made up of wild-caught marine protein, wild-sourced krill, and black soldier fly larvae, and every pigment in the formula is from a named natural source. You can verify every claim on the guaranteed analysis.

  • You should, and krill is the main reason. Astaxanthin from wild-sourced krill is one of the most bioavailable pigmentation sources available for koi. Most customers notice a difference in red and orange intensity within 4–6 weeks of switching. The full-spectrum system (spirulina for blues, marigold for yellows and golds) means you're not just improving one color range.

  • Porcine (pig-derived) ingredients are common in lower-cost koi feeds as a cheap protein source. We don't use them. Koi Prestige is 100% free of porcine derivatives, relevant for fishkeepers with religious dietary requirements for their pond, and for anyone who simply wants to know what's going into their fish.

  • Yes. Koi Prestige is an all-season formula, balanced for both active feeding periods and transitional months. The 4mm floating pellet size works for most koi varieties. For very cold water temperatures (below 10°C / 50°F), reduce feeding frequency as koi metabolism slows - this applies to all koi feeds, not just ours.

  • Surface feeding lets you observe your koi every time you feed them - confirming they're eating, monitoring appetite changes, and simply enjoying your pond. It also reduces waste compared to sinking pellets, which can accumulate on the pond floor and affect water quality. With Koi Prestige's palatability stack (krill, garlic powder, brewer's dried yeast), they’ll come to the surface fast!
